Swor Women's Care continually strives for excellence. Dr. Swor is a long-standing member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons and the Florida Medical Association. He has been awarded many honors and memberships over the years.

He is the Chairman of the ObGyn Department at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and has served on numerous governing committees in area organizations. The gynecology department was recently chosen as the #1 GYN department in all Florida by US News and World Report.

His business was the recipient of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Young Business of the Year Award in 1998.

USF Alumni Association selected him as Alumni of the Year in 1998 for professional achievement.

Swor Women's Care was selected as one of Suncoast Best Doctors for 2004 and one of America's Top ObGyns for 2004-2005. We also were selected as Best Doctors in America 2006.

Dr Swor was the first area Gyn surgeon to become a founding member of the prestigious Accreditation Council of Advanced Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy. He co-founded the Center for Advanced Surgery at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in 1994. He is one of only a few gynecologists in the country who is trained in daVinci robotic-assisted surgery.

He is on the advisory board of Cape Surgery Center and provides services to the under-insured through the Community Medical Clinic.


Dr Swor is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. These organizations have a strict membership policy and require their members to maintain the highest in ethical and practice standards.

Dr Swor is an assistant clinical professor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He is also an assistant clinical professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He is involved in a number of educational and training programs for healthcare workers and other physicians. He has lectured at the Florida Association of Physician Assistants, the national meeting of the Association of Surgical Technologists and other prestigious educational meetings. In 1998, he was honored with the USF Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement.
